Support in the Home

There are many benefits to receiving grief support in the home. Home is where many of us feel most comfortable and at ease, where we can be ourselves.  Home is usually our safe place when we feel vulnerable and grief can make us feel really vulnerable. Facing the world can be too hard at times like this. Grieving is hard work and draining physically, mentally and emotionally, leaving little energy for much else.  For many grievers, having Grief Relief support in the comfort of their home is ideal.

Support is multi-faceted and can encompass practical information, frameworks for thinking about grief, stories of what others have done in similar circumstances, tools and strategies for managing self and others and much more. I’m very familiar with the landscape of grief and its pitfalls. I can point you in the right direction if you lose your way, lend you a helping hand if you stumble so you can get up and carry on. I can walk alongside and support you at any point in time on your path through grief.

My style is warm, informal and conversational.  I’m very comfortable providing grief support in the home as much of my work has been done in this way from supporting families after the sudden and unexpected death of an infant, bereavement support for funeral home clients to home visits with people suffering from chronic illness.

Grief Relief is based in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. Home support is available throughout the Wellington region and nationally by phone or Skype. All enquiries welcome.
